Education
Environmental education is an important aspect of
dealing with the environmental
concerns that are facing us today. From elementary
school to adults, it is never to
late to learn
why
it is important to conserve our natural resources and
how we can accomplish those
tasks. The District is active with
Youth Conservation
Camp, the
Envirothon Competition,
and
outreach to the local schools. The District also
provides college internship opportunities.

District Education Specialist, Garret Jones, assists
Amherst County High School students with stream
monitoring efforts.
Non Point Source Pollution
is the
leading cause of water quality problems. It directly degrades water sources for
drinking water supplies, recreation, fishing, wildlife and aquatic life.

The District
partners with the Lynchburg Community Market for rain barrel
workshops
